Saulteaux First Nation Pow Wow 2025: A Saskatchewan Celebration of Culture and Community

If you’re looking for one of the most vibrant cultural events in Saskatchewan, mark your calendars for the Saulteaux First Nation Pow Wow 2025, happening September 19th to 21st just 30 minutes north of North Battleford, SK. This annual gathering is a powerful celebration of Indigenous culture, music, and dance, drawing participants and visitors from across the Prairies.

What Is a Pow Wow?

A Pow Wow is a traditional gathering that brings together Indigenous Nations to share in the heartbeat of the drum, competitive dancing, and community connection. These events are open to the public and offer a unique opportunity to experience Indigenous traditions in a respectful, family-friendly setting.

At the Saulteaux First Nation Pow Wow, you’ll witness dancers in breathtaking regalia, powerful drum groups competing for top honors, and special events that honor resilience, healing, and community pride.

• Location: 30 minutes north of North Battleford, Saskatchewan
• Grand Entry Times:
  • Friday, Sept. 19th – 7:00 PM
  • Saturday, Sept. 20th – 1:00 PM & 7:00 PM
  • Sunday, Sept. 21st – 12:00 Noon

Drumming & Dance Competitions

The Saulteaux Pow Wow is home to one of the largest drumming contests in Saskatchewan, with over $63,000 in total prizes, including $20,000 for first place.

Dance competitions will be held in all categories:

• Tiny Tots (6 & under) – Paid Daily
• Junior Boys & Girls (7–12) – $250 to $50 prizes
• Teen Boys & Girls (13–17) – $500 to $100 prizes
• Junior Adults (18–39) – $1,000 to $200 prizes
• Senior Adults (40–59) – $1,000 to $200 prizes
• Golden Age (60+) – $1,000 to $200 prizes

✨ Plus, Category Specials of $5,000 each for Men’s and Women’s dance styles ensure unforgettable performances.

Specials and Cultural Events

This year’s Pow Wow will also feature unique specials, including:

• Men’s Grass, Men’s Chicken, and Men’s Traditional Specials
• Red Dress Special – raising awareness for health and healing
• Residential School Special – education and remembrance
• Parent & Youth Team Special – celebrating family connections
• Tiny Tot, Junior, and Teen Specials – spotlighting future generations

These events not only showcase talent, but also honor history, healing, and community strength.

We’re thrilled to announce that REALEAF is an official sponsor of the 3rd Annual Saulteaux Heritage School Golf Fundraiser, taking place on Friday, June 6, 2025, at the beautiful Jackfish Lodge in Battleford’s Provincial Park.

This exciting 4-person golf tournament brings together community members, businesses, and supporters for a fun-filled day on the green—all in support of Saulteaux Heritage School’s student year-end trips. As a company deeply rooted in community values and giving back, REALEAF is proud to contribute to an event that invests in the future of local students.

Event Details:

• Date: Friday, June 6, 2025
• Location: Jackfish Lodge, Battleford’s Provincial Park
• Registration: 9:00 AM
• Shotgun Start: 11:00 AM
• Entry Fee: $1300 per team (includes golf, cart, meals, LD’s & CP’s)

Golfers will enjoy a day of great competition with Men’s and Ladies’ Longest Drive contests, Closest-to-the-Pin challenges, and cash payouts based on the number of entries — with prizes of $1000 x 4 for top teams.

All proceeds from the event go directly toward student year-end trips, providing valuable learning experiences and memories for the students of Saulteaux Heritage School. By sponsoring this event, REALEAF is helping to ensure every student gets the opportunity to grow, explore, and celebrate the school year’s achievements.
